Leaving You
Dear Beatrice,
Tonight you had your first period of time without one of your parents with you. I left you with your grandparents and aunt and uncle while I went to the fair… Where I definitely whipped out my phone to show off photos of you.
Your grandpa took you on a grand farm adventure to see all of his animals. Your aunt J fed you a bottle. And your uncle Kyle let you watch westerns...
Bottles
Our pediatrician told us to start attempting to use a bottle with Bebe since she doesn’t like taking a pacifier from me already, and someday I’m going to have to return to work. I wasn’t sure how this would go.
She. Took. It. Like. A. Champ.
AND she fell asleep when she was done.

Feeding ME
Within minutes of being stitched up after having Bebe, the delivery doctor told me to take care of myself, get lots of sleep, drink lots of water, and eat. This is the same thing I had been hearing from my other doctor for weeks, and was reiterated by the pediatrician. Yeah yeah, take care of myself, piece of cake.
Then today I found myself sweaty, dizzy and faint and wondering what in the world...

Staying Up
Today was Beatrice’s first appointment with her pediatrician. She passed with flying colors, and is one ounce short of being back at her birth weight - a great accomplishment considering the problems we had feeding her in the hospital (more on that later).

Still Nothing
I went to the doctor yet again and I won’t bore you with all of the details because there is NO CHANGE from last time… or the time before that.
This means I go in on Monday afternoon to get Cervidil, I’ll spend the night in the hospital and start Pitocin on Tuesday morning.
